Double Your Sales With This Technique

Double Your Sales with Back-end Products

Okay! So your web site is up and running... You've automated the whole sales process from start to finish... the sales are steadily pouring in... and the balance of your bank account is continuing to rise! Good for you!

But now what? Well, you could either take a vacation on some tropical island in the South Pacific... or you could start looking for ways to give your sales an extra boost.

First off, before I get into the good stuff, I want to make sure that we are all on the same page. You have a merchant account, right? If you don't, you need to stop reading this article right now and take action! The technique that I am about to reveal depends on you being able to accommodate the impulse buyer by accepting credit cards online.

Being able to accept credit cards online is critical... I just can't stress this enough. By accepting credit card payments online, you can expect to experience a dramatic increase in sales... by as much as 300%!

With that said, lets move on to backend products. It is a technique that is thoroughly covered in the Internet Marketing Secrets course.

However, for those of you who are unfamiliar with the concept, backend products are products that you sell to your customers after you make the initial sale. It is an explosive sales technique because, as statistics have shown, 28% to 36% of people who have bought something from you in the past will buy again if you have something similar to offer.

This means that your current client base is a GOLD MINE just waiting to be taken advantage of! Sounds great, right? Well, that's because it is!

But I think it's time to let you in on a little secret. There is another technique... a concept similar to the backend product... that is even more powerful! This technique will make 40% -- or more -- of your customers instantly buy something else after only a few short hours of work... and with no additional costs!

Curious? I bet you are! I've decided to let the cat out of the bag because I realized that this is the kind of information that ALL of my customers and subscribers should be using!

So here it is! The ultimate up-sell!

It is a technique that is based on the same principle as the backend product:
When a person trusts you and likes your product or service enough to buy from you once, they like you enough to buy from you again and again. However, there is one key difference between an up-sell and a backend. When you backend your original product or service, there is usually a waiting period between the initial sale and the second offer. When you up-sell, you catch your customers when they are at their most receptive by making the second offer immediately!

How can you do this? It's easy! By programming a pop-up window to appear each time someone fills out your order form and presses the submit button! In this window, you present your customers with another product... even another two or three products! Because the window opens with a confirmation of the original order and a nice thank-you, the ad is not considered intrusive by the customer.

The customer has just purchased from you. Their credit card is out. They trusted you enough to buy from you once. Now is a great time to make a second offer! The customer is open to suggestions you have about other products or services that may be of interest to them.

What can you offer as an up-sell? Virtually anything! Sell books, videos, newsletter subscriptions, more of the same product at a discount, a complementary product... whatever! If you don't have another product of your own, join an Affiliate Program that complements your business and begin selling their product for a commission. In fact, believe it or not, your competitors are probably the best place to start looking for an up-sell product or service!

Ideally, you want to offer products or services that are related to the original sale. But remember, variety works too as long as you are sure that your offer will appeal to your target market.

If you are looking for a simple way to give your sales an instant boost, then take a few hours out of your day and start utilizing this explosive technique. Once you have your system up and automated, it's easy money! You just sit back, and let the relationship you have established with your customers work for you a second, third, or even a fourth time!

Until next time... to Your Cyber Success!

Profitable Marketing Promotions

Promotions That Bring Profits

It can take up to a couple of months to begin getting substantial amounts of reciprocal links from other related sites and to get good placement on search engines, make these your first priorities. I am telling you this so you can get an idea of what order things are best done in.

Once you have submitted your site to the search engines and started to communicate with other sites to get reciprocal links, you want to focus your time on email discussion lists, ezines, newsgroups, Bulletin Board Classified ads, mailing lists and commercial online services to get immediate cash flow. These are "instant" marketing tools that will literally generate income in a matter of days allowing you to test ads, slogans, salesletters, and your website design to get a winning combination before you really start to get traffic from reciprocal links and search engine listings.

These "instant" marketing tools, will bring you a lot of contacts who want to do joint ventures with your product (or your company). While we are talking about joint ventures, you should always be thinking about who you could contact to do joint ventures with (this can be critically important and it can really skyrocket your profits). But you have to have a proven winning sales strategy before you do this or you are wasting your time. Be patient. It will not happen overnight, but when it does happen, it happens very, very fast!

You will find that as time goes on, other sites in your industry will put links to yours without you even knowing (assuming they find something valuable worth linking to). As you grow, you will get email from people wanting to exchange links with you, and others who might want to distribute your product in mass quantities. You will be surprised who contacts you once you are well known, but realize that this takes time and nothing but time. There is no way to make this part of your campaign go faster than what I am telling you here. You will soon find out that when your online business starts to take off you may not be able to keep up with the pace. That's why you must plan from the beginning.

Let's just touch on the potential here... If you have a good "front-end" product(your main product), as your business starts to grow, you can be implementing your "back-end product" (products you sell after the client has bought the first product from you) as this is where the real money is!

We will talk more about back-end products in another blog as I want to devote more time to it.

Keywords Can Put You At The Top With Google

Keyword Search with Wordtracker

Without a doubt, purchasing traffic from the pay-per-click search engines is one of the most profitable, most effective ways to drive targeted traffic to your web site.

Google AdWords is the pay-per-click side of the search engine giant we all know as Google. An ad placed with Google AdWords shows up in a colored box on the right side of the Google search results page, combining free (editorial) content with paid advertising. It's another form of pay-per-click advertising that, done right, has proven to effectively generate traffic.

To maximize the performance of your ad, make sure to...

1. Choose the keywords you bid on very carefully. Try to choose keywords that are frequently searched by your target market but that are not being bid on by as many of your competitors.

2. Write an effective ad.

3. Monitor your bid position. Whenever possible, make sure you rank in the top 3 listings as this will get your ad the highest exposure.

4. Track your results and make adjustments and improvements based on what you learn.

Back to keywords -- let's take a step back and talk about the process of choosing them in the first place...

Both Overture and Google AdWords supply tools to help you determine which keywords would be best for you to use. However, Overture provides a much more extensive and useful range of tools.

Google's "AdWords Keyword Suggestion Tool" does give you a list of synonyms and similar phrases for your keyword. However, Overture's "Search Term Suggestion Tool," gives a list of 99 related terms, PLUS how many times each of those terms has been searched in the last month. Flip over to the "View Bids" tool to determine how much is being bid on these terms, and your bidding strategy is underway.

But if you want to get a good pay-per-click listing on Google, there's no reason why you can't use Overture to get a feel for which terms are most searched, and which are available at low cost (you can do this for free and without committing to anything with Overture), then use these terms to create your ad in Google AdWords Select.

Or, better yet, use the more comprehensive tools offered by Wordtracker -- the free version will give you search numbers and bidding amounts from AltaVista, while the paid version compiles results from the top 24 search engines, directories, and pay-per-click engines, including Google. This is the best way to find those overlooked keywords and misspellings that your competition hasn't noticed... and that you can capitalize on at a very low cost.

Learning the search engine game is a trying and time-consuming lesson, and a start-up e-business may not have the time or the resources to undertake the arduous task of getting a good ranking. But if you can choose your keywords carefully and find the most attractive bid amounts available, you can bid your way to the top of the search results pages without blowing your budget.

Until next time... to your cyber success!

How to Increase Your Sales Conversion Ratios

Increase Your Sales Converion Ratios

It is an absolute MUST to create sales material for your products at your websites and for other online marketing ventures. You need a really good description that can get people interested and excited about the product, including information on how the product or service came to be and all the benefits of getting it. You have to get people excited about your products and show them the benefits of owning the product. If you don't do this, you will be out of business before you even start.

Some people think "I'll keep it short and just put up a couple of bullets or short sentences just to get them interested, because people won't read long copy." That's totally incorrect. It's wrong, wrong, wrong!

People DO read long copy, and they DO read long letters.

If you have something interesting to say, and something that will solve a problem they have... something that is of benefit to them, they will read whatever you have to say for as long as it goes. There is only one catch. Letters can never be too long, they can only be too boring. As soon as your letter gets boring, it is too long. So as long as there's something interesting to say, as long as you have a benefit to give them, something they can get excited about... as long as you have a story to tell, the letter is never, ever too long.

Don't get caught up in the thought that you can sell your product with a one line sentence. You need to sell it. To sell it you need to show benefits to your potential customer. And to show the benefits you probably need more than one line. Talk about their hot buttons and show them why they should have that product. Why it's a great value, why it's a great price.

The idea is to create value. People buy value. If they think it is going to solve one of their problems and it's worth $500 to them and your product only costs $50, do you think they are going to buy it? They are absolutely going to buy it! You have to create a perceived value so that they feel the product is worth the money to them, no matter what you are selling.

Here are a few other things you can do:

• Use lots of bullets
• Create lots and lots of value and benefits for the product
• Use lots of success stories telling about the results that have been obtained from using your product or service
• Use testimonials
• Have a powerful opening
• Create a great closing
• Offer a guarantee
• Answer the most commonly asked questions
• Overcome the most common objections
• Paint a picture or show the results customers can or will obtain by using your product or service.

All these things are covered in the Internet Marketing Secrets course. The bottom line is don't just rely on short one line descriptions for each of your products and think that this is what will sell it... It won't. People won't buy it - they need to be sold on a product or service. So it's very important that you do this, otherwise you are destined for failure.

Internet Marketing Secrets (Part 3)

Internet Marketing Secrets

Okay, now here is some news I know you really wanted to hear! Ready?

Your job of testing never ends!

Yes, you read it right! Your job of testing never ends! There is almost always something you can improve on. You could have a winning ad for years ... and then one day a new generation of buyers could appear and change everything. That winning ad no longer pulls like it used to. So test again! Test and learn what appeals to your new audience.

The good news is, as long as you are testing and experimenting with different marketing techniques and strategies, your sales will increase! Remind yourself of this important point if you ever start to feel that testing is too much work!

Okay, now that you know WHAT to test, HOW do you keep track of which classified ads, banner ads, links, search engines, etc. are pulling the sales?

It’s not as hard as you might think. In fact, there is a very simple way that you can track most everything!

If you have a web site, a good site statistics program is a must. It will allow you to track:

- Where your traffic is coming from
- What pages visitors are looking at
- What page the majority of your traffic is entering on
- What page the majority of your traffic is leaving on
- How long they are staying
… and much more!

If you are running classified ads, banner ads, or a serious linking campaign, you will want to track these kinds of statistics. But how? How will you know how many people visited your site as a result of a classified ad?

Can you track the number of visitors that are generated by each individual ad? You bet!

You would...

1) Use a different URL in each ad. These "mirror entry" pages would bring visitors to the same page.
2) Then you would use a web site statistics program to track the amount of traffic and sales each ad pulled.

You could easily use this strategy to track the results of the same ad placed in a variety of e-zines to see which e-zine generated the most sales. Or you could run four different ads in the same e-zine to determine which copy pulls better.

You could also code the URL for use in e-mail promotions in your own newsletter. This way, you could track any sign-ups that come in, knowing which ad they came from.

Your site statistics can tell you:

1) Exactly how many people arrived at any given page.
2) How many of those people signed up for your newsletter, bought your product… requested more information, etc.

This means that you can keep track of exactly where your customers and subscribers are coming from, and which ads produce the best results!

If you are using our AssocTRAC software to run your Affiliate program, then you may already be aware that it is the ultimate ad-tracking software. You can track banner ads, text links, buttons, or any type of advertising you pay for.

By assigning an associate number to an ad, you can track exactly where your visitors are coming from and how many sales are generated by individual ads. This is really important because you’ll want to know which ads are earning big profits and which are wasting your money.

If you advertise through classified ads, banner ads, buttons, links, etc… then this software may be worth the price just for its tracking capabilities!

Once you know the number of buyers and subscribers each ad produces, you will be able to make better decisions about where you are spending your advertising dollars.

And don't forget to check out Internet Marketing Secrets for more great ideas to get you started or to increase your profits for your existing business.

Internet Marketing Secrets (Part 2)

Internet Marketing Secrets

I received several requests from my last blog to expand on testing. So I thought I would list things that you should be testing in the order of their importance. But please beware that ANY change can potentially make a big difference in the response you receive.

I should point out that you should try 3 or 4 versions of your ads and sales letters before choosing the one that produces the best overall results to use as your "control ad". From that point on, only test one thing at a time. That way you’ll know exactly how each little change effects your overall sales.

1. Test your headline.
This is your title or your opening sentence. This one thing alone can make a huge difference in the response you receive. Spend a lot of time working on it. Your title or headline will be the first impression that your reader or visitor has of you, so it is very important. If you don't get their attention with your headline, the game is over.

2. Test your offer.
Your offer is different than your price. It is the total package that you are selling. It includes your main item plus any bonus items you have included. You can try changing your offer, try emphasizing different benefits, or try using different motivating words and phrases.

3. Test your price.
A price that is too high is just as bad as a price that is too low! You might wonder how any price could be too low. Well, a low price could devalue your product or service. Potential customers might think, "If it's THAT cheap, there must be something wrong with it!" Test your prices, starting at what you would consider too high and slowly go down. It goes without saying that you have already figured out your cost per sale and know your breakeven prices by heart!

4. Test the body copy.
Try adding some testimonials or experiment with a photo or two. Try redoing your opening page and your closing page. If you are not using a P.S., you should. Are you stressing benefits and features by using bullets? You can also test long versus short paragraphs. Or you can try running one long sales letter ... and try breaking the copy up into several pages.

5. Test where your banner is being run.
On the Internet, it is easy to test a classified you place in a newsletter or e-zine, but it is a little harder to get consistent test results from banner ads that are displayed on a variety of sites, especially if you cannot choose the sites.

6. Test your site layout.
A good site statistics program will tell you where people are entering your site and where they are exiting it. If they are consistently exiting on a certain page (before ordering), then changes need to be made.

7. Test your order process.
Again, a good site statistics program will tell you if there are potential problems with your ordering process. If people enter the order section (already knowing the offer and the price) and then exit it without ordering, this may indicate that there is a problem with your order form or process. Ask a few people to run through your ordering process… and tell them that you want their honest opinions.

After you have tested all of these things, you can then test the colors you use, the text typeface, and design elements. Your web site should be fast loading and easy to navigate and it must be visually attractive. You should be testing and tweaking every aspect of your web site!

Internet Marketing Secrets

Internet Marketing Secrets

If you are either a newbie to the Internet or are a seasoned veteran, I would highly recommend ckecking out, "The Insider Secrets to Marketing Your Business on the Internet", to anyone! Throughout this course you will find endless techniques and strategies such as the tips you will find below.

Do you want to double or triple your web site income? Well, the best way I know of going about this is to TEST! Of course the saying goes "if it aint broke, don't fix it". But how will you ever know if you can be bringing in higher profits unless you test occassionaly.

I'm sure there are many of you out there who don't take testing seriously. Before I increased my sales by over 300% (practically overnight), I didn't test much either! However, when I saw the incredible difference a headline made, I became a testing convert.

But what exactly should you be testing? If you are selling a product with a sales letter make sure you test the following things:

- Your headline
- Your offer
- Your copy
- Your layout (how you lead your prospect through your sales material)
- Your price
- Your ordering process
- The use of color
- The font

Usually changes to things like color and font only make small differences in the response you receive… unless your choices are very unusual. But keep in mind that even these small differences can add up! By testing each of these items separately, you will be able to see how your profits can explode by making even just one minor change.

How to Pick the Right Product to Sell

Picking the Right Product

The key ingredient for creating and growing a successful online business is very, very simple…

Sell what people WANT to buy.

Don't find a product and then try to find a market to sell that product to. Instead, find a market that needs a product and then create a product or service to fill that need. This is your key to a successful product or service. I see too many people who think they have come up with the "ultimate product", or so they say. Well, it may be the "ultimate product" to sell, but if you can't target the market that wants to buy it, you are out of business. When I try to explain to them that they can't target the market online, they don't understand.

Luckily for us though, the beauty of the Internet is that it is built on pretargeted markets. What that means is that certain interest groups "hang out" in certain areas of the Internet. For example, you will find skiers at skiing email discussion lists, skiing newsgroups, skiing ezines, skiing related websites, etc. The point is, it is easy to find skiers online (your pretargeted market), if you are selling a product or service for skiiers.

In direct mail, magazine advertising, etc. you pay large sums of money to get a targeted market… on the Internet you can reach this targeted market for very little cost. But if you have a product or service that has a target market that is hard to find online, you will have trouble selling your product online no matter what you do.

Another major factor that you should consider is whether or not your target market can afford what you are selling them. For instance, if you are trying to sell a $200 credit repair kit to people with bad credit, you have a problem.

Do you realize that what I have just given you is the… KEY TO SUCCESS?!

It's simple, just find a market that is easy to reach and then find a need in that market that you can fill.

This is the easiest way to success and almost EVERYONE OVERLOOKS IT!

Think about it, why do diet Infomercials work… why does exercise equipment sell… because people want to be thin! They don't "need" to be thin, they "want" to be thin. People want these "solutions" to their problems and they buy them… plain and simple.

By the way, I am not suggesting you sell a diet product or health equipment, I just wanted to give a good example. Also, if you want more examples and more information on picking the right product, you should check out our "Internet Marketing Secrets" course if you haven't already, as it will provide you the help you need to get off the ground and get you making money, even if you don't have a product to sell!

What Are The Hottest Products to Sell Online?

The 2 Easiest and Hottest Products Online:

It's easy to summarize what these two products are...

1. Information products and
2. Software products

...although there is a lot of diversity to each.

The good news is that they are both easy to sell on the Internet and they both have high mark-up so it doesn't take a lot of sales to pay for advertising costs or overhead, which means it is easier to turn a profit - a large profit!

Information products are the easiest to develop. Whereas with software, you usually have to "joint venture" or become a reseller for a software company, since most people do not have the required programming skills to make software themselves.

It is in your best interest to market information products such as books, manuals, ebooks, special reports, audio videotapes and similar products. They are the easiest things to sell and generate quick profits. They have obscene markup potential and are easy to deliver - it can even be done electronically via email so there is no product or fulfillment cost.

Information products are also very easy to produce when compared with virtually anything else, and there are essentially no regulations that apply to them. If you were to produce a weight loss pill you would need to go through the drug administrations safety and labeling regulations. However, if you were to sell a product such as a weight loss manual, you wouldn't have to do anything but write and print it. You are protected under the first amendment of the Constitution.

Another reason why an information product is the hottest item to sell is because our society is so "information hungry". This is especially true on the Internet where the entire medium is based on the concept of "information", hence the term "The Information Super Highway". It is easy to charge larger sums of money for knowledge that will make life easier or more comfortable for someone. It can be as simple as how to make your garden flourish or as complex as how to make a fortune selling your home. What makes the Internet perfect for this is that the people who use it are "information junkies", and they are usually searching the Internet for information... a perfect client for you!

Software is also a hot product to sell online. There are a couple of reasons for this. First is that everyone online has a computer so you have pre-qualified them (their computer runs on software). All you have to do now is find a niche market that needs a problem solved and find a software product that solves that problem.
The other angle is to find a need in a niche market and then find a piece of software that you truly believe in that will solve that problem. Then, as long as you have a good salesletter, good sales process, and good promotion, you are guaranteed success.

Should I Sell a Product or Service Online?

What Should I Sell Online?

One of the first things you will have to decide when setting up an Internet business is whether you want to sell a product or a service. Both have their advantages and disadvantages...

PRODUCTS

Advantage: unlimited income potential because you are not constrained by time the way you are with a service (the more product you sell the more income you make - especially when you are automated).

Disadvantage: generally requires you filling large amounts of orders to make a reasonable living, unless you have a product with a very high profit margin.

Disadvantage: requires stocking and shipping (or drop-shipping from a supplier).

SERVICES

Advantage: it is easier to make a profit quickly because the entire price of a service is paid to you (excluding any overhead).

Advantage: services can generate a great residual income because the client may want to hire your services again and again.

Disadvantage: you are limited to a modest income because you can provide only so many services each day (unless you hire employees to perform services for clients).

Selling a product online has by far seen the biggest profit potential in the long run. Once you get a successful product, you can automate the system and move on to new products that will generate multiple streams of income.

If you need immediate cash flow, providing a service is the fastest way to produce instant income... but it will never pay off as big, in the long run, as selling a product with a high profit margin.

If you sell a service, think about how you can transform it into a product. One of the best examples I can think of is regarding the people who submit websites to search engines. Because the competition got so fierce and their business began to suffer, some wrote and sold reports revealing how search engines work and tricks for getting sites listed higher etc. The reports were priced at $20 -$100, and the entrepreneurs in our example found new markets to tap.
